Children & Young People

In several of our village churches we have a short all age services or meetings suitable for both adults and children:

Sunday School

We offer an interactive Sunday School at our Benefice Informal Service (also known as GAP). This meets in Long Compton Church from 4-5pm on the “odd” Sundays during school term time (1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month). In the Sunday School children are placed in age appropriate groups (4-7s and 8-10s) where they learn more about God from the Bible through storytelling, crafts, and discussion. Younger children and babies (0-3s) are also welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.

After the service we all enjoy delicious food like pizza and hotdogs together! We also have a youth group (11-16s) which meets during this service. For more details see the section on “Young People”.

Young People

Our group for young people in school year 7 and upwards currently meets during the Benefice Informal Service (known as GAP) to learn from the Bible and have fun together. This happens in Long Compton church at 4pm on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays during school term time.

The Benefice youth group “God’s Minions” (for 11 - 16 year olds) also meets in Barton-on-the-Heath from 4-6pm on the 2nd Sunday of the month at The Village Hall for Bible study. food and activities. There are also outings each term have included ice skating, bowling, theatre and cinema trips. Each summer a number of our young people go on a Christian summer camp. For more information please contact the youth group leader Kim Petty on 01608 674283.
